HDI was also honored to have Professor Gerusa Dreyer lecture at the seminar. Prof. Dreyer revolutionized the world’s understanding of lymphatic filariasis and thus made possible the Global LF Elimination Program possible. Similarly, Dr. Yankum Dadzie of Ghana, who was then Chairman of the Global Alliance for LF Elimination and previously headed WHO’s program to eliminate river blindness (onchocerciasis) from Africa, made a presentation on the approaches of disease eradication programs. Dr. Jim Zingeser from CDC in Atlanta, USA and distinguished Norwegian professionals also spoke.
